Description
Pure ravintsara herbal tea — named Best Organic Product 2023
Our purest herbal tea: ravintsara alone, nothing else. No blend, no companion plant, no flavouring. Just the ravintsara leaf, dried, cut and packed in teabags for convenience.
It is the herbal tea for those who want the raw character of ravintsara, with no other plant in the way. And the ideal base for your own blends: add lemon, honey or ginger, or mix it with another herbal tea to suit your mood.
The herbal tea at a glance
- Size: 20 individual teabags = 27 g of plants
- Composition: 100% dried ravintsara leaves (Cinnamomum camphora), nothing added
- Certification: certified organic FR-BIO-15 (Alpes Contrôles)
- Origin: our plantation in Sahambavy, on the Highlands of Madagascar
- Suitable for: adults and children from age 3
- Award: named Best Organic Product 2023 (Circuit Bio rankings)
How to prepare it
- Heat water to about 80°C (boiling water damages the aromatic compounds)
- Pour over 1 teabag in a cup
- Cover and leave to infuse for 6 to 8 minutes
- Remove the teabag and drink it plain, or add lemon, honey or ginger as you like
How often: 1 to 3 cups a day during the seasons when you feel more fragile, for 5 to 10 days at a time.
Why a herbal tea rather than the essential oil?
Ravintsara essential oil is powerful but calls for strict precautions (dosage, methods, contraindications). The herbal tea offers a valuable alternative:
- Suitable for sensitive groups: children from age 3, pregnant women after the first 3 months (with medical advice), older people
- No complicated precautions: no drops to count, no risk of overdosing
- A warm daily ritual
- Complementary to the essential oil
Pure ravintsara vs Latsaka / Mievona / Ririnina: which herbal tea to choose?
- Pure ravintsara teabags (this page) — for lovers of the raw taste of ravintsara, and for your own blends
- Latsaka (Petits Mouchoirs) — ravintsara + hyssop + mallow. For autumn and irritated throats.
- Mievona (Atchoum) — ravintsara + nettle + plantain. For the change of seasons and spring.
- Ririnina (Grand Froid) — ravintsara + marjoram + elderflower. For the coldest weeks of the year.
A genuine direct supply chain in Madagascar
The leaves in this herbal tea are hand-harvested by our team on the Malagasy Highlands, dried to our standards and packed into teabags in France. They are the same leaves we distil for our essential oil, itself named Best Organic Product 2019. This teabag herbal tea was named Best Organic Product 2023 — after our loose leaves were awarded in 2022. Three awards for BETSARA.
