Description

Alcohol-free ravintsara hand gel

Conventional hand sanitising gels contain 60 to 70% alcohol. Effective, but drying for the skin, irritating with repeated use, and unsuitable for sensitive skin or children. Our hand gel takes the other road: no alcohol, just ravintsara hydrosol + ravintsara essential oil + xanthan gum for the texture.

The hand gel at a glance

  • Ingredients: ravintsara hydrosol, ravintsara essential oil, xanthan gum
  • Certification: Nature & Progrès
  • No alcohol, no synthetic fragrance, no chemical preservative
  • Texture: a soft gel that does not dry the hands
  • Suitable for: adults and children over 6

Why these 3 ingredients

  • Ravintsara hydrosol — a water base made from ravintsara floral water, carrying the plant’s water-soluble molecules. Gentler than alcohol: it hydrates instead of drying.
  • Ravintsara essential oil — a micro-dose for a natural purifying touch on the hands.
  • Xanthan gum — a natural thickener of plant origin that creates the gel texture without any chemical additive.

How to use it

  • Squeeze a hazelnut-sized amount into the palm of one hand
  • Rub both hands together for 30 seconds: palms, backs, between the fingers, nails
  • Leave to air-dry (no need to wipe)
  • Use as often as you like — unlike alcohol-based gels, ours does not dry the skin, even at 10 applications a day

Typical moments: at the office, on public transport, when travelling, when you get home, before meals, after touching door handles or shared surfaces.

Hand gel or sanitising spray: what is the difference?

  • Hand gel — applied directly to the hands, alcohol-free, gentle on the skin
  • Sanitising spray — sprayed on surfaces and into the air, contains a little organic wheat alcohol

The two work together: the spray for your surroundings (surfaces, car, hotel room), the hand gel for yourself.

A genuine direct supply chain from Madagascar

The ravintsara hydrosol and essential oil in this gel come entirely from our plantation in Sahambavy, on the Highlands of Madagascar. Hand-harvested leaves, the same ones we distil for our essential oil, named Best Organic Product 2019.

Behind the scenes: From leaf to bottle (in French).

Precautions for use

  • External use on the hands
  • Not recommended for children under 6 without medical advice
  • Not recommended for pregnant women in the first trimester
  • Patch test in the crook of the elbow recommended for sensitive skin
  • Store away from light and heat
