Description
The ravintsara toothpaste that does without fluoride and SLS
Conventional toothpastes contain irritating surfactants (SLS), fluoride, synthetic sweeteners and sometimes titanium dioxide. Ours takes the other road: vegetable glycerine, white clay for gentle mechanical polishing, sea salt for a cleansing effect, three essential oils for natural freshness. That is all.
The toothpaste at a glance
- Ingredients: vegetable glycerine, white clay, sea salt, ravintsara essential oil, peppermint essential oil, tea tree essential oil
- Format: 75 g glass jar
- Certification: Nature & Progrès certified
- No fluoride, no SLS, no synthetic sweeteners, no titanium dioxide, no water (you are not paying for filler)
- For: adults and children from age 12
Why these six ingredients together
- Vegetable glycerine — a gentle, moisturising plant-based base that gives a creamy texture without synthetic surfactants.
- White clay (kaolin) — gentle mechanical abrasion to clean the teeth, with natural absorbent properties.
- Sea salt — traditionally used in oral care for its cleansing effect.
- Ravintsara essential oil — our signature, micro-dosed for its characteristic fresh, eucalyptus-like note.
- Peppermint essential oil — freshness in the mouth and a clean feeling after brushing.
- Tea tree essential oil — rounds out the cleansing profile.
How to use it
- Keep your toothbrush dry
- Take a small amount straight from the jar (the toothpaste is highly concentrated, you do not need more)
- Moisten the brush lightly after picking up the paste
- Brush for 2 to 3 minutes, with vertical strokes from gum to tooth
- Rinse thoroughly
- Finish with our ravintsara mouthwash to complete the routine
Is a jar hygienic? As long as you dip your toothbrush in dry, not wet, no bacteria get into the jar. That is the common mistake to avoid.
Good to know: the texture differs from mass-market toothpastes (less foam, more earthy, clay-like). That is normal and intentional — it shows there are no synthetic surfactants.
Why a glass jar rather than a tube?
Three reasons: simplicity (pick it up straight with the brush), ecology (glass is endlessly recyclable, unlike plastic tubes), and dissatisfaction with the solid toothpastes on the market. We wanted a plastic-free toothpaste that is practical, with no compromise on everyday use.
A genuine direct supply chain from Madagascar
The ravintsara essential oil in this toothpaste comes entirely from our own plantation in Sahambavy, on the Highlands of Madagascar. The same leaves we distil for our essential oil, named Best Organic Product 2019.
