Picture a fire crackling in a hearth surrounded by snow and ice.<\/p>\n<h3>Ririnina at a glance<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong> ravintsara, marjoram, elderberry<\/li>\n<li><strong>Format:<\/strong> 20 individual tea bags = 27 g of plants<\/li>\n<li><strong>Certification:<\/strong> certified organic FR-BIO-15 (Alpes Contr\u00f4les)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Best season:<\/strong> deep winter, December to March<\/li>\n<li><strong>For:<\/strong> adults, children from age 3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The three plants and their traditional uses<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ravintsara<\/strong> \u2014 leaves from our own plantation in Madagascar (Sahambavy), the heart of the blend. The same leaves we distil for our essential oil, named Best Organic Product 2019.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Marjoram<\/strong> \u2014 traditionally used for digestive comfort and valued for its antioxidant profile. It gives the cup its aromatic roundness.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Elderberry<\/strong> \u2014 used in European tradition to support the body through the cold season. It brings a fruity, slightly tart note.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to prepare it<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Heat water to around <strong>80 \u00b0C<\/strong> (boiling water degrades the active compounds)<\/li>\n<li>Pour it over 1 tea bag in a cup<\/li>\n<li>Cover and leave to infuse for <strong>6 to 8 minutes<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Remove the bag. Drink it plain or with a little thyme honey or lemon<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>How often:<\/strong> 1 to 3 cups a day during the coldest weeks, for 10 to 15 days.<\/p>\n<h2>Why ravintsara as a herbal tea rather than an essential oil<\/h2>\n<p>Ravintsara essential oil is powerful, but it calls for strict precautions.
